It was a very busy, but extremely enjoyable weekend here at The Cookery School, with a birthday celebration dinner for a very special lady on Saturday evening. We were honoured to host her 70th birthday.
Sundays are just getting busier and busier, 34 this week. The menu was inspired by one of our guests who had booked an Indian dinner so I wonder if I could convert into a three course Sunday lunch.
So the menu went as follows, Onion Bhajis with a Cucumber Raita and Mango Chutney. For main course we had Roast Chicken Tikka, Bombay alloo, Charred Aubergine with chilli and mint and a green bean and mushroom side dish, not forgetting the giant Yorkshire pudding! Desert was a hazlenut pavlova topped with a passionfruit salad made my lovely mother.
Judging by the clean plates, it was great success! Roll on next Sunday, my favourite day of the week.
